2025 THEME
STEPHEN KING ON TOUR!

Written and Edited by Dave Hinchberger.

Cover and Interior art by Glenn Chadbourne.

The Stephen King Annual, with articles, interviews, hundreds of illustrations, photos, and a 52-week Calendar of Facts and Triva!

Presents this years theme celebrating Stephen King on Tour!
Stephen King has had many book instores, tour readings at colleges, and libraries, auditoriums (like the Ryman Grand Ole' Opry in Nashville) and even at church locations. Here we delve into these appearances and we hear from fans and readers who share their personal experiences.

Featured Guests and Articles:

Dave Hinchberger’s Introduction:
Stephen King, Rock n' Roll Hoochie Koo!

Award-winning artist Glenn Chadbourne’s original wrap-around cover exclusively made for this year’s Annual as well as original artwork featured throughout this 200 plus page full-color hardcover.

Glenn Chadbournes cover will feature Stephen King riding his motorcylce from the 1994 INSOMNIA tour, in his own creative fashion. We are looking forward to what he has dreamed up!

Our Team of Stephen King Bibliophiles Continue in this edition, featuring:

Bev Vincent - The First Time I met Stephen King
A look back at a Stephen King instore with King's mentor, and author Don Robertson as they sign Don's novel and published by Stephen King, THE IDEAL GENUINE MAN. A look back over thirty-five years ago.

Kevin Quigley - Do the Collapse - Kevin recounts his surprise reaction to his first-ever Stephen King in person appearance... and it is a doozie.

Tyson Blue - Meeting Stephen King Tyson recounts his many meetings with Stephen King over the years, from film sets, book instores, and chance run-ins! He has quite the stories to tell.

Fevre Dream - Glennon Reitz -  instores,Glen takes us on his surprising full day of being with Stephen King at UMASS Lowell. It's also one of King's largest audiences of over 5,000 attendees. This story will blow your ever-loving King mind! (with a lot of photos)

Close Encounters of the Stephen King Kind - Jim Argendeli -  Jim's tale takes us to CNN where he worked, and arranged to have Stephen King interviewed with Robin on Headline News (maybe some of you saw that interview?). It is quite the tale of a morning and afternoon with the man. Wait until you read this "encounter".

Stephen King Performs at Hank's Place - Dave Hinchberger - Let me take you by the hand as we attend the 2016 event of King at sold out show at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville (2,600 seats sold out in 5 minutes!). My email exchange with Stephen King, and the adventure of the day. And what a day it was.

Under the Dome: Atlanta, November 13th, 2009 - Dave Hinchberger - Stephen King's appearance at the Barnes and Noble in Atlanta / Buckhead (where he performed with the Rock Bottom Remainders in 1993) to sign for his then new release, Under the Dome. Bev Vincent is there, as well as nine police officers and a biker. You'll want to take a lookee at this one.

The Elusive Photo - Ariel Bosi - Ariel is a world traveller when it comes to seeing Stephen King live. His travelled all over and here he recounts the many times he has seen King at these events, getting books signed, and trying to get a photo with him. He is a perfect example of what many King Constant Readers feel when trying to meet up with... The King!

You Talkin' to Me? - Stephan Behrndt - Stephan takes on a trip to Hamburg and Munich and we get to meet King in a foreign land that just adores the master that is Stephen King. His meeting with King had quite a unique twist, with an even longer visit than usual. He recounts this here with lots of photos, art, and messages. A rare look.

What a Long Strange Trip it's Been - Donna Girard. Donna's history with seeing Stephen King is decades long. We've even been with Donna for his show, The Ghost Brother's of Darkland County. She's met him 9 or 10 different times, and has the photos here to prove it! Talk about "photos through the years" here they are. Along with stories of those signings / events, she recounts her time with SKEMERS in Bangor, Maine, and many other "trips" on the Stephen King train.

Stephen King Visits Germany - Robin Amstutz - We met Robin at the Sleeping Beauties signing outside of Boston one year. She told us of meeting Stephen King at the Ramstein Army base in Germany. King was giving a talk to 250 Army personnel and Robin didn't have a ticket... but that changed when she ran into Stephen King going to get a burger. Wait until you read her adventure! What a story.

Stephen King Accepts the Mason Prize - Glennon Reitz - Glen was there and he, and Stephen King, discuss the night in accepting this prestigous award.

The Rock Bottom Remainders Take the Stage at The Roxy - Dave Hinchberger We This account starts early in the morning that day with a press conference at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Atlanta, the show at The Roxy, and afterwards at the hotel. What a day!

Rock-King and Rolling: An Interview with Ridley Pearson - Andrew J. Rausch - Andrew's interview with Stephen King's fellow Rock Bottom Remainder, Ridley, is informative, amusing, and just damn fun. Pearson relates some stories onstage, and off, that will have you rolling!

The Rock Bottom Remainders Farewell: 2024 - Glennon Reitz - Glen went to the Miami Book Fair in November 2024 to see what appears to be the last show from the band... they've said this before, but I do think this was it. Glen took lots of photos and takes us there, at the stage, with the band and the songs.

The Stephen King Diaries - Joseph Pittman - We discoverd Joseph writing about his days working for several of Stephen King's publishers, and specifically working on his releases with him, and his boss, Elaine Koster. This is the longest piece we have published in any of the Annuals, over 10,000 words! Joseph Pittman's stories are a part of Stephen King history and we had to publish it all. This is one you'll thoroughly enjoy reading.

EXTREME KING - Diana Petroff and Noah Mitchell - We This Annual they delve into Firestarter releases, especially the Phantasia Press rare limited edition, including the asbestos lettered edition! They interview publisher Alex Berman who shares his communications and letters from Stephen King. They also interview cover artist, Michael Whelan about his history making art for this limited edition. Stephen King superfan, Bob Jackson, is also interviewed on how he came to own the original Whelan painting (what a story!).

Sleeping Beauties - Hank Wagner - Hank Wagner takes an in-depth look at the novel by Stephen and Owen King, as well as the comic series, and the updated hardcover of the graphic novel with more art and story.

Mike Flanagan Shows Us the Way Back to The Dark Tower - L.L. Soares -Soares takes us to look back on Flanigan's important movie and TV series work and what we can possibly expect with his upcoming Dark Tower series. Now's your chance to visit with Flanigan before the arrival of his Dark Tower.

Signing Bonus - Kevin Quigley - Kevin has been our go-to writer for various projects and his insight has even amazed me. We are glad he's been able to research and write for the Stephen King Annual. Here he recounts how he finds the magic and delivers it. It's a fascinating look on the inside of what he accomplishes.

I Know What You Need: Interview with Director, Julia Marchese - HAnthony Northrup interviews Dollar Baby filmmaker, Julia Marchese, on her wonderful adaptation of Stephen King's I Know What You Need. It was filmed in and around Stephen King's alma mater, The University of Maine, even to the point of filming in his own dorm room! Lots of photos from the set and the campus. There is a lot to uncover here from Julia's background to filming and beyond.

Stephen Spignesi - Castle Rock: The Stephen King Newsletter. er - er - HThe Castle Rock Newsletter, published by Stephen King, ended its four-year run, in December 1989. It is now collected and a prize posession among many King fans to have these issues. Stephen Spignesi takes a look back at the accomplishments of the newsletter that featured many articles, reviews, etc. including articles and even an original story by Stephen King!

Bev Vincent’s annual write-up of Everything King – Current and upcoming releases in books, short fiction, non-fiction, movies, and TV series. His insight into the Stephen King world is informative and invaluable in every edition of the Annual.

Dave Hinchberger’s annual calendar features fifty-two weeks of trivia and facts around each Annual’s theme. Get ready to be dazzled as you see what he pulls out all the stops of Meeting Stephen King!

With trivia, quizzes, quotes, facts, and informative articles covering the graphic novel, films, and TV shows, featuring Stephen King, artists, director, actors, writers with quotes from many authors and artists over the years. You’ll enjoy the information and illustrations within for years to come.
