Description
IT - LASERDISC SET.
OVERVIEW: Remember when this book came out? It was HUGE! I remember seeing a cartoon of someone slicing through the book, as they would a large cake... trying to get through it... it was just so much to read. At over 1,000 pages, it was quite a feat. So imagine would it would take to bring Kings vision to the screen. Well it made it to the mini-series screen, and I have to say that part one, with the kids, was very well done. Part two suffered when they got to adulthood, but overall I enjoyed this rendition of Kings story.
The official press wordage:
Your ever fear - all in one deadly enemy. It can be anything. A fanged monster that won't stay on the movie screen. Something ominous lurking in the basement. Or around the next corner. No matter what your biggest fear is, no one knows It better than Stephen King.
Based on the King of Horror's 1986 best seller, It is a jittery, jolting excursion into personal fear. It raises goosebumps - and brings out the stars. Harry Anderson, Dennis Christopher, Annette O'Toole, Tim Reid, John Ritter and Richard Thomas star in this thriller about a malevolent force in a small New England town. The force takes the shape of a clown, but It isn't clowning around. Instead, It terrifies youngsters with their innermost fears, bringing them to untimely doom - until a group of wily neighborhood kids fight back. Thirty years later the evil resurfaces: meaner, angrier, deadlier. And the friends who vividly remember the terrors of their youth reunite to make a desperate final stand against It.
Directed by Tommy Lee Wallace. Starring Harry Anderson, Dennis Christopher, Richard Masur, Annette OToole, Time Reid, John Ritter, Richard Thomas, and a special appearance by Tim Curry as Pennywise the Clown... otherwise known as IT. Curry was an excellent choice. The man was creepy. 3 hours and 12 minutes. 2 discs. Standard format.
